Where is your tomorrow?
Greetings all, it is such a nice day out! There is such great energy around right now. I am in a great place today and I am challenging myself to remain that way no matter what. One day at a time though because each day brings on new challenges. I do not want to overwhelm myself with thinking too far ahead. I also believe that each day is deserving of it's own attention. That does not mean that you should not plan..but of you keep living each day for the future, you will never get where you want to go. Who is to say when the future actually arrives? Exactly when is this future that we so covet? Is is a week from now? A month? Five years? Who is to say that you will even be here? where is your planning now? What I have been learning is to live in the moment. As I said, you should still plan for the future but you should not give too much energy to it. If I had to quantify it, I would say about 25% or so depending on.
The reason that our present is deserving of so much attention is simply because we are in it! How bad has life become that we are always focused on tomorrow to the point where we are not mentally present in the present? Take hold of yourself and say "I am here today!" ask yourself "What can I do to make today better for myself and those around me?"
Remember, this is not to nullify the importance of our future, it is to focus on oneself where it matters most. Do I dislike the future? Oh no..I look forward to it! I just do not want to give it all of my energy. Theoretically, if you focus more on what you are doing now, the future will fall into place. Am I a crusher of dreams? Not at all! There are so many things and experiences that I want and will have. I want you to dream..and dream BIG! But don't leave your head stuck in the clouds so much that you forget to look down :-)
